This English class is a college preparatory course designed to enable students to read critically, write proficiently, and communicate effectively in order to demonstrate college and career readiness. Higher order thinking skills and in-depth analysis and discussions are other major components of the class. A diverse selection of reading material including novels, a Shakespearean play, poetry, articles, essays, and other nonfiction pieces that are supported by the Common Core will be part of the curriculum.

We will NOT be doing the Extending Your Response for Act 3 as a class, so that is why I am suggesting it for your reading log for Act 3. But of course it is optional and only if you did choose that option for Act 1.
