Description

Throughout the year, the students will develop professional and college preparatory skills that emphasize critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication.

Students will analyze what they have read (fiction and nonfiction), and conduct research to support their views of an issue. The writing process will utilize technology to evaluate, revise, collaborate and publish.  Students will develop editing skills as they move from rough drafts to final drafts.  Speaking skills will emphasize formal well-supported presentations as well as informal discussions as part of a community of learners. Students will learn to analyze and apply vocabulary in context and will receive instruction on essential grammatical concepts to improve fluency and clarity.
