Welcome to the Advanced Placement (AP) program at Walnut High School
Is your student…
Motivated to achieve in college level coursework?
Disciplined enough to consistently dedicate the time needed to prepare for class?
Determined and not easily frustrated by challenging academic material?
If you answered yes to these questions, your child may benefit from enrolling in an Advanced Placement (AP) course next year.
In AP, students have the opportunity to take a college-level course and potentially earn college credit, saving both time and money. AP not only helps students to be better prepared for college, it builds confidence and introduces them to concepts and skills that will be useful for the rest of their lives.
Walnut High has an OPEN ACCESS policy which means any student meeting course prerequisites may choose to sign up for one or more of the 25 AP courses currently offered. Because seats are limited, students meeting minimal qualifications may be placed on a waiting list. Approval is tentative and does not guarantee placement in the course due to seating and course availability.
The application process is easy. Students will click on the link below and make sure they know their student ID, GLC, and grades for prerequisite courses.
