The Old Man and the Sea Newspaper you started in class. (Name your paper in relation to the text, create a headline story with a title, front page color picture, and story that uses two quotes from the book, one advertisement related to the book, and one minor article with 1 quote from the book)

Read The Old Man and the Sea page 32-40 (quiz tomorrow) Look up 5 terms about the ocean/ocean animals/boating terms etc. from the reading and define them if you do not know what they are or find interesting/unknown facts about them. Please write the page number of the word(s) you are looking up and be prepared to share.

STARS article. This week you must pick an article from the Opinion section of the LA Times or Huffington Post. Complete your STARS worksheet and write a response article (include a title)-minimum 1/2 page. Be prepared to present you article and your opinion piece!

1/2 page written response to What is the best American holiday? Make sure you provide detailed reasons as to why you have your belief. (write like we discussed in class!)

Finish the Columbus STARS article and your opinion response.
