Dear Walnut Family,
I am delighted to be reaching out to you as Walnut High School's Principal. Since being hired on July 1, 2019, I am grateful to the entire Walnut community and deeply humbled that I get to serve this exceptional school who truly puts kids first. As the last three school years brought us challenges, we found opportunities to learn, grow, and overcome as a community. We hold the same mindset approaching the 2022-2023 school year making this the best possible experience for our 2,100+ students. I am energized by the opportunity to extend our vision of putting kids first, both academically and social-emotionally. To do this, your continued help, leadership, and support will be needed at our great high school.
Looking back since our school first opened its doors in 1968, Walnut High School has established itself as one of the top high schools in the nation due to our academic excellence and exemplary extra-curricular programs. Walnut High School continues to be recognized both locally and nationally. WHS has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, a California Distinguished School, Newsweek’s Top 100 High School in America, an International Baccalaureate World School, and more. Our staff works diligently to provide a quality education for all students and continues to find innovative practices that connect our students beyond the classroom walls.
The staff and I are committed to creating a well-rounded educational experience for our students. Walnut High School is a place where students of all backgrounds can form lifelong connections whether inside the classroom or as part of an extra-curricular group. This year will be full of opportunities and challenges. Take advantage of the opportunities, and meet the challenges with determination and the help of our wonderful staff. I have one challenge for all students as we start the year. GET CONNECTED! Walnut High School is a community, and for the next four years, we expect everyone to participate and thrive in this community!
We have a motto that you might see around campus that says “Some are born here, some are drawn here, but we all call it home.” Whether you have grown up in the community or are brand new to Walnut High School, you will notice a strong sense of pride, family, and support the moment you walk on campus. This is your home. WELCOME TO WALNUT HIGH SCHOOL! I am looking forward to an amazing school year. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call, email, or stop by the office.
