Due:

Assignment

Hello All,

Attached is Thursday night's homework. It is a LAZY SONNET.
Lazy because instead of writing 10 syllables per line, you only need to write ONE word per line for your sonnet. Also, the only lines that need to rhyme are the last two.

DOn't worry about the rhythm either.

This poem (TYPED PELASE!) is due on Friday, March 26.
Please read the instructions on the attached file for more detailed instructions and a sample.

Ms. Tan

You may type your answers on the worksheets or you may print them first and hand write your answers.
If your printer is out, you can still view the questions and therefore still answer the questions no paper.

These questions and responses go in the YELLOW section of your notebook.

Ms. Tan

Assignment

Hello All,

Attached is the worksheet titled "Handout 8". Please print and bring to class on Tuesday. We will work on it during class.

Don't forget to finish your promptbook for homework tonight.
It is due first thing in class tomorrow.

Some of you are forgetting your textbooks.
I will enforce it from now on until we are done with Romeo and Juliet.
No textbook=a tardy since you will have to go get it.

Also, I need to get a head count of how many of you want to order our next novel, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.
I will take that count tomorrow. This is a book that you are required to have your own copy of since you will need to mark it up. Any edition or even a used copy is ok as long as it has very few markings. Otherwise, get a new one.

See you tomorrow,
Ms. Tan

Assignment

Hello All,

Attached is a copy of the two poems I shared in class as examples of the advice poem YOU need to write.

Keep in mind that the format I gave you does not follow Langston Hughes' poem exactly. His is actually longer. I condensed our poem so it is only 13 lines.

Also, you will notice that the student example, although a good one, is not a perfect one. It does not meet the requirements exactly.

Please make sure you follow the format given as closely as possible.
Be sure to TYPE your poem and give it a title.

Good luck!
Ms. Tan

Bring this to class tomorrow so we can discuss it.
Please ask if you have any questions.
Ms. Tan

I would still like to collect notebooks tomorrow, however.
If you would bring your notebook and anything and everything we've done in class, you should be ok.

I will write the list on the board during class and give all of you some time to make sure you've got everything.

As you check your notebook and binder, if you're not sure about anything, better to bring it than be sorry.

OK, see you tomorrow. Apologies for not having the list today.
