Redox Balancing Worksheet #6-10

Answers:

#6: 4H+, 1, 2 --> 1, 2, 2H2O
#7: 4H+, 2, 1 --> 1, 1, 2H2O
#8: 16H+, 2, 10 --> 2, 5, 8H2O
#9: 14H+, 6, 1 --> 6, 2, 7H2O
#10: 8H+, 3, 2 --> 3, 2, 4H2O

I just noticed that there are no basic problems on your worksheet so I suggest, for practice, that you work out all of the problems as basic problems as well (you can do that.  just add a couple of steps beyond what you would do for an acidic problem).  Here are the answers if you were to do them as basic equations (Coefficients of the original equation listed. If not in the original equation, like H2O or H+ or OH-, it will be written out):

#6: 2H2O, 1, 2 --> 1, 2, 4OH-
#7: 2H2O, 2, 1 --> 1, 1, 4OH-
#8: 8H2O, 2, 10 --> 2, 5, 16OH-
#9: 7H2O, 6, 1 --> 6, 2, 14OH-
#10: 4H2O, 3, 2 --> 3, 2, 8OH-

Optional Worksheet below for more practice.

Worksheet (big font) Answers:

#1: 6H+, 2, 5 --> 2, 5, 3H2O
#2: 2H+, 1, 2 --> 2, 1 (no additional H2O needed since it's already in the equation!!!)
#3: 2OH-, 1, 1 --> 1, 2, 1H2O
#4: 2OH-, 2, 3 --> 2, 3, 1H2O
