On September 14, 2021, a small group of Latinx parents and educators from Walnut High School met to discuss how to best work together to support parents and student of Latinx descent. Parents have continued meeting and are taking steps to become an official non-profit organization focused on supporting Latinx students and their families.
On November 16, 2021, the Latinx Parent Alliance Parent Group held an event called "Pan Dulce with the Principal". The purpose of the event was to meet with Spanish-speaking parents of Latinx students attending Walnut High School and gain valuable feedback on how we can better support our Latino parents and students. It was also a great opportunity for our parents to network with each other.
In September of 2023, the Walnut High Latin Parent Alliance officially became a parent organization at Walnut High School and begin meeting on campus to find ways to support our students. Please see the meeting dates below and feel free to join us!
