French 4/AP /IB - Summer activities and links

French 3/3H (going into level 4/AP/IB) - 15-20 minutes a day would be a great idea to stay on top of your language. To increase your level, 20-30 minutes.

  1. Keep a weekly journal of what you’ve been up to in French, write in the passé compose and imparfait.
  2. Watch 1jour1 question: https://www.1jour1actu.com/infos-animees/, read articles from their website, make a list of vocabulary that you learn and try to use it in sentences.  https://www.1jour1actu.com/
  3. Listen to French music, look up the lyrics, keep a running list of vocab that you have to look up.You can always start with the lists from Manie Musicale that I’ve had on spotify and go from there.
  4. Read 1 article online a week about something you are interested in, but in French.
  5. Watch the French news and try to understand the headlines and one story to the best of your ability. Check here: https://www.francetvinfo.fr/replay-jt/france-2/20-heures/
  6. Subscribe to French YouTuber channels or watch videos from some  French youtubers.
  7. Go back and review old vocabulary and start learning the vocab for the various themes that we will continue to address in the coming year. see the attached list with this document.
  8. Check out http://www.tv5monde.com/ and explore.  Do the level test here: https://apprendre.tv5monde.com/fr/apprendre-francais/tester-son-niveau and then do accompanying work to practice. Watch shows, videos, etc…Apprendre le francais avec TV5
  9. Subscribe to Brut. on YouTube and watch videos related to the AP/IB topics.Link: https://www.brut.media/fr  YouTube: Brut.
  10. See the AP/IB Topic list that is attached. Get familiar with them and try to relate what we have already learned into the various topics. When you read an article, match it up to the various themes and sub themes.
  11. Review all the material that we did this past year and in prior years, because next year is the year it all has to come together.
