20/20 congratulations on this amazing accomplishment as I thought about your graduation it brought back memories from when I graduated from Walnut myself your graduation looks a little different than mine though I mean you guys get Ryan Seacrest and we did it so it does look the same are the opportunities that await you I can tell you from personal experience. Walnut High has provided you with an amazing education that has prepared you for whatever comes next I look forward to seeing what happens as you begin your next journey and hope to see you come back and visit in the future congratulations again this is coach at Walnut High School before you get out of here the first one is if you want something in life that you've never had then you'll have to do something that you've never done fish grow based on the size of the fish tank there in full surround yourself with friends and people that will help you to stretch and grow more of the story he want something in life go get it and don't let your environment friends are your current situation limit you good luck and stay focused when you're in this time of adversity and make sure that you carry on ready so to my students in my honors English and AP Lit classes I love you I will miss you it has been an absolute privilege to have been your teacher and to watch you grow both as students and as human beings I'll miss our conversations I'll miss your amazing projects for videos and posters but I again just want to say congratulations to everyone and I look forward to hearing what I'm amazing things you're all up to now take care of school graduating class of 2020 I want to congratulate you are reaching this important and exciting milestone in your life I hope that when you reflect back upon these four years here at Walnut High School there are filled with great memories great experiences with most of all right lessons with maturity bro I want to wish you the best of luck on this new Journey that you're about to take moving on into the next chapter of your life don't forget to always be authentic and always keep believing in your abilities and what you can you're going to be great never-before-seen and solutions I've seen you grow quite a bit and I seen you rise to the challenge knowing I know that professionally and academically and in all the ways that you're going to greatly I love you kids are known since forever just busy on days you're still a little 7th graders in my mind I think the world of you and I wish you the very fast and pray for you I don't know each disappointing for you your family and you must think if you think it's in your although this whole chicken rub your head going to be toxic on your life and many of your post high school plans have it doesn't mean we can't climb over it or walk around it your future still wait for you on the other side no matter you are Richard Greaser you all have a purpose in this world each and everyone of 2020 fantasy that is I know that's probably not what you envision for graduation however there are many life lessons that we've learned during this time for instance learning to work with others like a little brothers and sisters family which is very important in life I'm just learning to share our space within this very important also a learning to take the initiative to fulfill your goals during this time just trying to keep your eye on the prize and knowing that graduation is coming and other future opportunities are coming very important for you to to learn to do and then the last lie also you know when we're alone and maybe things are not as ideal as we would like but learning to like my level two. learning this week learning to make lemonade when life gives you lemons I'm just keeping an optimistic view of life and knowing that we're always here for you and that things will always get better birthday good luck in your future endeavors keep us posted congratulations on your You should always put 100% into whatever you're doing because you'll never have a chance to look at home at this yet hi my name is Oak Island and what are the most important things that I've learned for my Chancellor High School is that life is full of unexpected outcomes and the best thing to do is really just to stay positive and look at the bright side of everything I'm supposed to be calling me that I wouldn't be the person I am today had it not been for overcoming Kyle tribulations opticals and most importantly all the failures something is really grumpy overall is a person to give me me people are going through an in and out of this group I made so many memories with friends have been there for me every step of the way high school for me was a wild ride of ups and downs but at the end of the day it was extremely worth it the high school has allowed me to make Unforgettable memories connect with amazing teachers and staff and build lasting friendships all becoming the best version of myself high school has me in the way that has helped me become the person I am now through growth maturity and responsibility through the programs have been apart of through my best friend and the teachers have supported and you're constantly and in a way that is helping me become the man I will soon be for my future wife and your family can go and my experience at Walnut High School has taught me to focus on the positive aspects of life and let go of any negativity that weighs you down throughout my four years of high school the best way Walnut has impacted by allowing me to make memories with my closest friends and by giving me new opportunities Dean Ambrose space I can tell you that I've made lots of mistakes throughout my four years but I feel like it's the way you handle it how the way you get back up and having the friends and support group fell on ice can provide for you it's allowed me to become the person I am today which is happy you know way I feel like that's what matters most so yeah I said it Embrace change and to step up to you sounded as well as a wall high school as far as so many phone numbers in relationships but I'll definitely remember her personal life Over the Rainbow a spectrum of colors that range from Happy Days really blue on been going through it all gave me a pot of lessons that I will cherish forever good afternoon Mustang and Welcome to our virtual recognition ceremony for the class of 2020 my name is Ryan main principal at Walnut High School I know these are not the ideal circumstances to meet on but I promise you that today is a day you will never forget today is the day that we honor you seniors and I hope you feel the love and appreciation that you deserve you have put in 4 years of dedication sacrifice long nights tears you made it all those times you think you couldn't you did and for that we want to honor you today with the hope that we will meet again on this field in our caps and gowns one last time with the class of 2020 but before we begin our ceremony I'm going to ask her class of 2020 secretary chimene Tran and our treasure Katarina Su to start us off with a pledge of allegiance please place your right hand over your heart ready begin I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you now we have Francis with our welcoming message hello and welcome hope you're staying safe and doing well I know the situation is not at all ideal but I hope it doesn't distract you from the bigger because we're cute celebrate our four years of Walnut Mustangs during this break I stumbled across quote that said to travel is better than to arrive and it stuck with me because I think it fits perfectly into a situation the Finish Line may have been blurred and it's not at all we expected but the real story lies in the journey because it's what happens when the way that counts and man what a journey is going by to be present to allow yourself to celebrate this milestone I do realize how far we come and we look back at all the struggle is long with all those Unforgettable memories with Unforgettable people I hope that we do so with gratitude and Joy of next we have a famous speaker who has 4.9 million followers on Instagram Ryan Seacrest to give us a few words of wisdom I want to see .7 KIIS-FM Seacrest with you on air and we've got Tanya Patty Sisson a few weeks ago the principal from Walnut school called in guys Ryan Main and he said he would you say a few words for the graduating class so I put together a few words for the graduating class shall we good afternoon to Walnut High School's graduating class of 2020 as you probably heard principal dr. Ryan Maine according to the Joe here one morning live looking for assistance for the commencement ceremony so this told me two things about Ryan one that he was willing to do whatever he could to make today a special and unique as possible for you and to that he did not have Harry Styles phone number now and since I didn't have Harry's phone number either here I am there is no doubt that the past few months have not played out as you've envisioned you went during the familiar voice of ASB president Matt Mayo saying good morning Mustangs asking yourselves what day is it and let's face chips cheese taste better in the ASP room been in your kitchen at home what changed everything you've accomplished while we may be living in a time of uncertainty the one thing that remains certain is that you should all be very very proud of yourself so remember that the other thing to remember is to put the memories of your friends and family from here Walnut High in safe place keep them with you for the rest of your life because just like the sun on senior Sunrise day while you may not be able to see them you always know they're there and I'd like to leave you with the favorite quote John ciardi one of my favorite shot at the trt now the day will happen whether or not you get up so I take she already has wisdom as a wake-up call you can feel free to move as a wake-up call to make sure instead of a day happening to you so it's a world full of exciting opportunities strange world right now but opportunities are out there so make sure every day on this new Journey counts believe me you are right you have the tools you need you are equal and better to the challenges that lie ahead congratulations Walnut High class of 2020 is commencement speech a lot of work hello class of 2020 expecting a little bigger round of applause first things first I like to say thank you Doctor Maine for allowing me to speak after a national TV and Radio Star a professional public speaker can I have the charm of a dull Rock compared to him I appreciate you not coming seniors are finally here I mean you're here you're there and I'm here and we're at the end it has been a pleasure to work with each of you this is definitely not the way I was expecting to say goodbye but you all have bigger things and move onto in life High School graduation is only the first lap and has a long way to go I hope you can use this experience the past two and a half months as a learning opportunity remind yourself how adaptable and independent you are how willing and capable you are overcome adversity and how you're able to achieve your goal no matter how you situation changes around you the class of 2020 will always hold a special place in my heart some of you have known since seventh grade as you're wiping boogers on each other and others I've met starting junior year each day we Foster our relationship together and I will cherish each of you the great coach Mike should schefsky was once asked what he tells his players after winning the gold medal for Team USA and Italy basketball at the time he was coaching some of the most powerful wealthy influential and respected athletes in the entire world in his words I'd like to say thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life thank you for allowing me to coach advise and counsel you it has been an absolute honor and a privilege to support you in counselor I have had the opportunity to watch you learn and grow from your accomplishments and your mistakes many of you have overcome with seems like insurmountable obstacles and you are leaving High School more resilient with the skills you need to continue to thrive I encourage you to live with gratitude and be intentional about the choices you make and the goals you set for your life every single day Eleanor Roosevelt said the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams so I encourage you to believe in your dreams keep working towards them and remember life happens evertson as the DLC for the academic design program and a former teacher here and it's Suzanne I had the honor watching some of these students since 2014 earning a Hands-On methodology to ask students to solve never-before-seen problems with never-before-seen nursing Solutions we use it we call the 5 C's critical thinking collaboration and citizenship what that really means is that our students has spent the last three years learning how to problem-solve Defender ideas to their teachers peers school they work together and they reflected on a regular basis AP seniors class of 2020 I believe in you because your curriculum your school and now the world I've offered you unexpected challenges and you have risen to the occasion each and every time I'm impressed I believe in you and ATP and I I know this isn't the most ideal weight The Graduate but just know that I am celebrating you guys from afar here in my home sending you guys so much love and hope you can feel that love through the phone I remember my graduation and I was actually homeschooled so I guess in a very very small way we can maybe relate to each other's unique graduation experiences but I just want to encourage you guys I know this sounds really we stay but whatever you guys decide to do in this next chapter of your life you guys might even be feeling a lot of pressure during this time just trying to figure out what your life is going to look like but all of our Lives different of course everyone stories unique but I will say I know this for sure that if you put your whole heart into something and you know that you're passionate about it then you can't go wrong and you will know if it's if it's really what you love to be doing on the firm firm believer in and going all out and what you love and just doing it with your whole heart and lastly I just hope that you guys Cherish All the memories that you've made in high school and definite definitely Above All Else Paris the people in your life because I think people are just the most important thing and just should be top priority relationships are going to come and go but I would just encourage you guys to surround yourself with people who really love you for you and are going to make you better and that's all I got I love you guys and congrats again on behalf of all the seniors thank you Tori Kelly for that amazing message finally one we're still doing all we can to have an in-person regulation and Senior activities with circumstances permit us to for now though I wanted to remind you to keep your head held high and seek knowledge how far we've all come we finally made it we've made it through all the grueling exams tiresome summer reading long lunch lines crazy pep rally most hits and more importantly though you finally made it to our next chapters of Our Lives luckily we're all the authors of our own stories so they will all be writing new chapters it doesn't mean we can't make amends this most recent one when we have the chance to and although we'll all be moving on soon home is where the heart is wood that we invite you all to come back to our Journey's first began popping your cars and drive which one is cool so ride at Walnut High School hello seniors this is Mister main I want to give you a quick overview of our one last ride after a virtual ceremony on May 28th enter the staff lot from Pierre Road graduates are broken up alphabetically into four groups please arrive within your assigned time to facilitate traffic flow and maintain social distance guidelines at this point our route will be our security checkpoint remember one car per senior graduates you must show your wallet high school ID so we can verify that you are a student and we highly recommend that someone drives for The Graduate so they can see Experience One Last Ride Through Walnut High School our staff will be spaced 6 feet apart cheering you on as you go through the route to help us maintain compliance with the Department of Public Health please remain in your car at all times at different points in a route staff members will be on both sides so pick a side there won't be a bad spot as you enter outside of the Y building we will pass out diploma cases to eat graduate you can pick up your actual diplomas on June 3rd and 4th more details to come we will also have TV screens showing our band playing virtually Pomp and Circumstance as you drive through they've been practicing take a look after you grab your diploma you will exit left and follow the route as you leave our campus please head down 10 gun Expressway as we have one final gift for seniors each graduate will be given a class gift please exit to your right on La Puente Road and remember for 20/20 strong
